National Cancer Survivors Day
“National Cancer Survivors Day”
Every year, on the first Sunday in June, cancer survivors gather with loved ones to celebrate their lives, raise awareness and serve as an inspiration to anyone facing a cancer diagnosis. The term “survivor” is broad, but to those living with the aftermath of a cancer diagnosis and treatment, its meaning can become very personal. Having survived a cancer diagnosis, patients often reflect on how it has brought new meaning to their lives. The journey doesn’t end at any particular milestone, but continues to define them for a lifetime. National Cancer Survivors Day is an annual, treasured Celebration of Life that is held in hundreds of communities nationwide, and around the world, on the first Sunday in June. It is a CELEBRATION for those who have survived, an INSPIRATION for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of SUPPORT for families, and an OUTREACH to the community.
